چکیده

Purpose: Various parts of Moringa oleifera Lam. (Moringaceae) are used in traditional systems medicine. This study investigates the antimicrobial activity crude aqueous extract and polyphenol enriched fractions M. leaves at flowering stage against microbial strains causing oral wound infections. Methods: Polyphenol (hydroalcoholic extract, methanol fresh dry decoction) were prepared using four different methods total polyphenolic content (TPC) flavonoid (TFC) extracts determined. Crude tested ATCC reference Escherichia coli Candida albicans (oral pathogens) Streptococcus aureus Staphylococcus pyogenes (wound agar well diffusion method. Gentamycin clotrimazole as positive controls for bacteria fungi respectively distilled water was negative control. Results: Methanol demonstrated highest values TPC (11.92 ±0.39 mg GAE/g) TFC (41.68±0.82 QE/g). Each fraction antibacterial E. coli, S. concentrations 500 - 1000 mg/ml. Hydro-alcoholic (fresh leaves) antifungal C. albicans. The exhibited dose dependent aureus. All less compared to Conclusion: rich possessed aureus,
